Jennifer is working on a new relationship

Matt and Jennifer

Jennifer met Matt several weeks ago and he was everything she was looking for. She lost her first husband three years ago to a heart attack and she has had a hard time without him. It is good to see her smile again.

Sherri and I really feel good about Matt. He is very dedicated to making Jen happy. She needed someone like him to share her life with. We both pray for Jen and Matt that they have a wonderful future ahead of them...

I Think I have found me a new fishing pardner

Kris cleaned up on those Brim

We took off on our annual family reunion in Louisiana. Our cousin Kenny has two ponds on his ranch outside of Coushatta Louisiana. It is not fished very often so Kris and I decided to take a trip out there to see if we could catch a few. Well as things turned out we waylaid about 35 large brim .

Not bad for a couple of hours

Kris was the winner! He out fished me but who is really counting? We had a good time together and I think he enjoyed it as much as I did. Hope we get to do this again...

Not sure what they call this moon but here it is

Heard about this special moon on TV so I had to take pictures as soon as it came over the trees. Sure, was bright! Not sure when this will happen again but hope I am around to see it...

Kris has a Birthday

Yes he is 19!

Just a little late in posting this but I have been busy. We did not have a big party but we did celebrate. We took him out to eat and bought him a new desk for his dorm room. Kris we love you and wish you the best in life from now until...

Started a new book

My cousin Bill Pitman published a book...his first! I called him and found out where I could order it. Sherri got it for me through Amazon.

Started it last week. Not a bad read just not what I normally choose to read. I am more along the lines of Crichton and other Sify writers. I'll have to say that it is written well, and it keeps you in suspense.

I did not know that Bill was so talented. I would like to have him write some more...

Had to get some ammo at Bass Pro

Well, I did have to check out my boat

Kris more than qualified

We had to start out at the Popeyes for a bite to eat!
We had a great time shopping at the Bass Pro shop. Kris found his ammo there and we took a look at the boats. I would like to get me a nice fishing boat before I can't fish anymore.
Maybe that day will come...

Found some interesting pictures

My mom 2 yrs old

My Great Grandmother

My Great Great Grandmother on

While going through the pile of pictures I found hidden in an old tote I came across some old photos I did not know I had. They were very old and some of them were taken back in the late 1800's. I thought I would share them with my family. I know none of my kids read my journal but maybe one day they might, and this will give them some Insite on our family history.

Of course, I will have to figure out how to load them to my journal...

Well, I got that done. I know that my grandmother was a Switzer and my grandmother on my father's side was a Hale. Not real sure what my great great grandmother's name was but maybe I can find that out

Not a good Christmas

Yes I was in the hospital during Christmas. Christmas eve was spent looking out the window of my hospital room. I had not planned on being sick, but the Coronus hit me like a ton of bricks. I found myself not being able to get out of my chair. Kris finally had to help me up and I tried to get to the bathroom, but my legs gave out and I felt weak all over.
Then I found myself on the floor of the bathroom not being able to get up from there. The ambulance was called, and I took my first ride ever. I had never been in an ambulance before, nor have I ever been in a hospital before. When I was overseas, I was airlifted to a field hospital and put in a ward, but it was nothing like a civilian hospital. This was not like anything I had experienced before.
The nursing staff was so nice, and the food was really good!
I felt really bad because I had ruined Christmas and Sherrilyn's Birthday! I will have to make up for it as soon as I get well.
We have moved Christmas off until January 25. We all will get together to celebrate it along with Sherrilyn and my birthday.
Overall, I feel good now and I believe I am on the mend. I look forward to better days...

Just looking back at some of my artwork

It has been sometime since I have picked up a paintbrush. I really do not have anywhere to set up a studio where I am. I hope to get located somewhere I can.

I have not made much money off the sales of my paintings, but I do make enough along to replenish my supplies.

I have been doing more watercolors in the past. I have been using 140 lb. paper that has worked well for me. I try to keep the cost as low as possible.

My plan is to show my art as soon as we get relocated back west of here. The only outlet close to me now is Gladewater but they are not having any shows now.

I have purchased a new Cannon camera that I plan on using to acquire some new photos to paint. The weather here has been a little too warm for me to paint on site. With the camera I can snap a picture and then take it back with me to paint later. There is nothing better than to be out in nature enjoying its beauty...

How I miss my Colorado home

Just can't tell you how much I miss my Colorado views! I had one good time painting all the beautiful sites that I saw in the mountains. There is just something about the mountains that made me want to paint almost all the time.

I know that I am not a master at this art. I do know that it sooths my PSTD. When I am painting, I am there and in many cases I was there.

Not that Texas doesn't have beautiful landscapes they are just not as majestic as the landscapes I saw and painted in Colorado. I have painted landscapes in Texas and enjoyed doing so, but when you are sitting in an alpine valley looking up at 14,000 ft mountains it really takes your breath away!

I will probably not see Colorado again until I die, and my ashes are taken to Big Meadow. But through my paintings I can return there...

Christmas lunch with our old set team

We try to get together each year to visit and reminisce days gone by. So many of our members have passed on. It is sad that our numbers are getting smaller and smaller. We enjoyed the time together and hope to do it again...
